Kate was born in London in 1973 and started out as a writer and won W.H. Smith Young Writers competition twice when she was in her teens. She studied foreign language and literature in college and thought it would give her a greater range as an actress. Kate’s first big screen film was Much Ado About Nothing in 1993, and has then acted in numerous films.
